The first operation was carried out in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) district. ISPR reported that security forces effectively engaged a terrorist hideout and killed 10 militants, including the suspected ring-leader Alam Mehsud.

Another intelligence‑based operation took place in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan district, where an additional five terrorists associated with Fitna al-Khawarij were “neutralized” by Pakistani troops.

In both operations, the ISPR highlighted a significant achievement: the elimination of high-value targets and the disruption of terrorist infrastructure.

These operations fall under Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism campaign known as Operation Azm‑e‑Istehkam — a national-level initiative aimed at rooting out extremist networks and restoring long-term stability. The ISPR frequently describes these missions as “intelligence-based operations” (IBOs), stressing their precision and reliance on actionable intelligence.

Analysts note that such operations are part of an escalating effort. For instance, earlier in October 2025, the ISPR announced the killing of 34 terrorists across KP, including in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bannu districts.

Similarly, in September 2025, another IBO resulted in 13 more “Indian-sponsored Khawarij” being neutralized. This pattern underscores a consistent campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam to dismantle insurgent networks.
