Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a significant milestone in the province’s financial performance, reporting a 44% increase in revenue collection over the past nine months. This achievement makes KP the only province to have successfully met the revenue targets set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), positioning it as a leader in fiscal discipline and governance.

Speaking to the media at the Chief Minister’s House on Sunday, Gandapur highlighted the government’s relentless efforts to boost the province’s revenue streams, ensuring efficient resource management and economic sustainability.

Gandapur expressed pride in his administration’s ability to meet and exceed the stringent revenue targets assigned by the IMF. “This 44% growth in revenue collection is unprecedented and reflects our commitment to fiscal discipline and effective governance,” he stated.

The Chief Minister attributed this success to the introduction of innovative policies, efficient taxation mechanisms, and a specialized focus on enhancing the performance of key sectors such as mining and energy. He emphasized that these efforts have not only improved the province’s financial standing but also contributed to sustainable economic growth.

One of the key initiatives driving this revenue growth is the establishment of a specialized mining company aimed at improving resource management. Gandapur explained that the company is designed to streamline operations in the mining sector, a significant contributor to the province’s economy.

Additionally, the government has undertaken the construction of a provincial power transmission line to utilize locally generated electricity. This initiative is expected to reduce energy costs and enhance revenue by providing reliable electricity to industrial and commercial users within the province.

Gandapur highlighted his administration’s focus on transparency and accountability in revenue collection. The introduction of modern systems for tax collection and the elimination of inefficiencies in the revenue department have been instrumental in achieving this growth.

The Chief Minister stated, “Our commitment to transparency ensures that every rupee collected is utilized for the betterment of the people, whether through development projects, improved services, or economic initiatives.”

In comparing KP’s financial performance to other provinces, Gandapur emphasized that no other region has achieved similar revenue growth or met IMF targets. He noted that this distinction underscores the effectiveness of KP’s fiscal policies and serves as a model for others to emulate.

“KP’s performance in revenue collection is not just a provincial success—it’s a national example of what can be achieved with the right policies and governance,” he added.

Looking ahead, Gandapur announced plans to further expand revenue streams by investing in sectors with high growth potential. The government is exploring opportunities in tourism, agriculture, and renewable energy to diversify the provincial economy and maintain the upward trajectory in revenue collection.

He also hinted at the introduction of new technology-driven initiatives to make tax collection more efficient and citizen-friendly, ensuring a broader tax base and increased compliance.
