The Pakistan Army has officially inducted the Z-10ME attack helicopters into its fleet. These modern, multi-role helicopters come equipped with advanced radar systems, precision strike capabilities, and electronic warfare suites, significantly boosting the army’s operational strength across varying terrains and weather conditions.
The induction ceremony, held at the Muzaffargarh Field Firing Ranges, was presided over by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, who also observed a firepower demonstration that showcased the helicopter’s tactical capabilities.
The Z-10ME helicopter, developed for modern battlefield requirements, is a state-of-the-art, all-weather attack platform. Designed for precision strike operations, both during the day and at night, the helicopter can target and neutralize a wide range of aerial and ground threats with deadly accuracy.
Fitted with high-performance radar systems and electronic warfare suites, the Z-10ME represents a substantial upgrade in the Pakistan Army’s air support capabilities. These helicopters are expected to play a key role in combined arms warfare, providing close air support for ground troops and adding strategic depth to Pakistan’s defense posture.

During the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir addressed troops and reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Interacting with soldiers and officers present at the firing range, COAS Munir lauded their exceptional morale, combat proficiency, and professionalism. He expressed his satisfaction with the firepower demonstration, highlighting how the combined arms tactics reflect the Army’s preparedness for modern hybrid warfare.
“The induction of Z-10ME helicopters will not only bolster our operational capacity but also enhance the army’s precision-strike capabilities in rapidly evolving combat environments,” said Field Marshal Munir.
At the Muzaffargarh garrison, the COAS was also briefed on the formation’s training activities and its overall operational preparedness. Field Marshal Munir expressed full satisfaction over the high standards of readiness and the professional commitment of troops in maintaining combat excellence.
This induction and demonstration come at a time when regional threats and the changing character of warfare require modernisation, speed, and agility from defense forces.
In a related development, the Pakistan Navy recently celebrated the launching of PNS Sahiwal, an indigenously designed gun boat, at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW).
The ceremony marked another milestone in Pakistan’s efforts toward indigenous defence production and maritime capability enhancement. Designed by the Platform Design Wing (PDW) of the Pakistan Navy, PNS Sahiwal is currently under construction and will be equipped with long-range semi-automatic guns for high-impact maritime operations.
The gun boat is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening Pakistan’s maritime security, especially amid growing regional maritime challenges. The Navy stated that the PNS Sahiwal will enhance operational effectiveness during various coastal and deep-sea missions.
Both the induction of the Z-10ME helicopters and the launching of PNS Sahiwal reflect Pakistan’s strategy of modernising its defence capabilities across both land and sea. As security threats evolve beyond traditional battlefields, these initiatives mark significant progress in combined operational readiness.
By enhancing both air assault and maritime strike capabilities, the Pakistan military is aiming to maintain a decisive edge in potential conflicts while deterring conventional and hybrid threats.
