Pakistan’s security forces have successfully neutralized 47 Indian-sponsored terrorists in the Zhob district along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during a two-day anti-infiltration operation. The latest figures were confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The deadly counter-terrorism drive began on August 7, 2025, when security forces engaged militants attempting to infiltrate from across the border. In the first wave of action, 33 terrorists were killed in the Sambaza area. The following night, another 14 militants were eliminated during a deliberate sanitisation operation in the surrounding regions, bringing the total death toll to 47.
The ISPR reported that the second phase of the operation took place during the night of August 8–9, 2025. Security forces moved swiftly into Sambaza’s surrounding areas, targeting hideouts and blocking escape routes. The terrorists, described as khwarij and Indian-sponsored operatives, were intercepted and neutralized.
A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the slain militants. These recoveries underscore the scale of the planned attacks, which, according to military officials, aimed to destabilize peace in Balochistan and disrupt security across the border.
“The security forces remain committed to securing the nation’s frontiers and thwarting any attempts to sabotage peace, stability, and progress in Pakistan,” the ISPR emphasized.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the operation, highlighting the bravery of the armed forces who risked their lives to prevent a major infiltration attempt.
“The entire nation stands with our security forces in the war against terrorism. We are committed to eradicating every form of terrorism from our soil,” the Prime Minister stated.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the operation, referring to the militants as part of Fitna-e-Hindustan.
“In just two days, our security forces have eliminated 47 terrorists involved in spreading unrest in Balochistan. This swift action foiled a heinous plot against Pakistan’s peace,” Naqvi said.
He also praised the professional skills and coordination of the forces, calling their achievements a source of pride for the nation.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused New Delhi of sponsoring terrorism across the border, particularly in Balochistan. Security analysts note that such infiltration attempts often coincide with sensitive political or economic developments in the country, aimed at undermining stability.
